These are the commitments you can count on…
Voters deserve to know not just what a candidate will do, but how they make decisions. These are the standards I hold myself to as a candidate and future JP: grounded in the principles of limited government, personal responsibility, fiscal restraint, respect for law enforcement, and the traditional community-centered philosophy, often described as “Reagan Republican.”
PHILOSOPHY - Foundation for Fair & Consistent Justice
Humility & Teachability
I lead with humility, knowing I don’t have every answer but I do know where to find the law, the facts, and the right resources to ensure fair and informed decisions.
Law as Written - Not as Wished
I am committed to applying the law exactly as written - not based on personal preference, emotion, or outside pressure.
Integrity In Every Action
I will be transparent, accountable, and above reproach so the people of Precinct 3 always know they can trust my decisions.
PRINCIPLES - Standards That Guide My Actions
Traditional Values
My philosophy is shaped by the traditional values that make our community strong: faith, family, and community. These values guide my character and my service, and they are the same values that lead me to stand firmly with our law enforcement officers, firefighters, and military families who protect and support Precinct 3 every day.
Personal Responsibility
Strong communities are built when individuals take ownership of their actions, honor their commitments, and contribute to the wellbeing of those around them.
Community Engagement
A Justice of the Peace should be present and responsive with regular outreach within the precinct so people understand the JP court’s role.
Fiscal Responsibility
I understand that every tax dollar is earned by a hardworking family. A well-run JP office should be efficient, organized, and responsible with resources. I am committed to saving money where possible, improving processes, and ensuring the office operates with both professionalism and stewardship.
PROCESSES - What I Will Do Differently
My goal is simple: maximize personnel time, improve accuracy, and make justice more accessible.
eSignatures Where Allowed
When the law permits, I will implement secure electronic signatures for court documents. This reduces wait times, cuts out unnecessary paper handling, and helps staff and litigants move cases along more efficiently.
eFiling for Attorneys and Self-Represented Litigants
I will expand electronic filing options so that anyone - attorneys or self-litigants- can file documents online without needing to drive to the courthouse or rely on mailing delays. This is already standard practice in the higher courts, and it’s time Precinct 3 benefits from the same convenience.
Integrate DPS Citations With Court Systems
Traffic citations from DPS and other agencies should transfer automatically into the court system - not wait on USPS delivery. I will work with the county IT to enable direct electronic transfer so cases are accurate, timely, and ready for processing in days not weeks.
Streamline the Inquest Process
I will modernize the inquest workflow by using a digital form that the JPs can complete on a phone or tablet. No more time-consuming handwritten reports. This improves accuracy, reduces duplication, and ensures information is captured quickly and cleanly.
Establish a Teen Court
Teen Court is a program led by teens, for teens and provides youth with leadership opportunities. First-time offenders take responsibility, learn accountability, & move forward without a permanent mark following them for life. It strengthens families, supports schools, and keeps kids connected to positive influences instead of the justice system.
Evaluate Costs vs. Return on Investment
Technology should never be implemented recklessly or without purpose. Every upgrade will be evaluated for cost, impact, and long-term efficiency. Where a change saves staff time, reduces errors, or improves public access, I will fight to implement it responsibly and transparently.
